Positive Behaviour Policy

Behaviour in our Academy is impeccable.  Expectations are high and all staff ensure the pupils conduct themselves in the best possible manner.

COVID-19 Positive Behaviour Update-

From March 2020, the global Covid-19 pandemic has led to a few changes in how we define some of our children’s behaviours in school and our assessment as to whether these could challenge the safety of the environment, particularly where a child or young person’s behaviours could cause an increased risk to their own health or the health of others (staff and children).

Examples of this might include (but are not limited to):

 · spitting

· repeated disregard of social distancing rules

· not staying in their class/year group bubble

We will work together with the child and their parents/carers to carry out a risk assessment which will explore whether the child can manage in the school environment, under current circumstances.

We will continue to use green and red cards following our behaviour policy.

Social distancing measures will need to be adhered to, to some extent,  following the Government's guidance.

The virus that causes COVID-19 is mainly transmitted through droplets generated when an infected person coughs, sneezes or speaks. These droplets are too heavy to hang in the air. They quickly fall on floors or surfaces. Much of the advice for schools, colleges and childcare settings is to follow steps on social distancing, handwashing and other hygiene measures, and cleaning of surfaces. It is paramount, this is adhered to and children follow ALL instructions given to them.

What is Social distancing - the requirement to keep a distance from others to limit the spread of the virus – it is a required (as best as possible) in schools.

All staff and children must wash their hands with soap and water for 20 seconds frequently, and help those who have trouble doing so. Everyone is encouraged not to touch their faces and must be told to use a tissue or elbow to cough or sneeze and use bins for tissue waste. Everyone must follow the social distancing rules put in place by the Senior Leadership Team. If anyone is seen to deliberately not adhere to the above guidelines, red cards will be issued and a Senior member of staff will be called on and you may be called in for a meeting, where possible (following the social distancing guidelines)

All staff and children MUST follow the rules set in place in their bubbles for each other’s safety and for their own safety.

Please follow your emails for all updates and all other correspondence.
