Sports Premium
PE and Sport Premium
At Newark Hill Academy, we believe that every child should have the opportunity to lead an active, healthy and fulfilling life. Through our CHILD Pledge, we are committed to providing a wide range of experiences that help pupils develop confidence, resilience, leadership, teamwork and a lifelong enjoyment of physical activity.
The Primary PE and Sport Premium enables us to enhance and enrich our provision beyond the national curriculum, ensuring that all pupils, regardless of background, ability or starting point, can access high-quality physical education, competitive sport and wider physical activity opportunities. The funding is used in line with Department for Education guidance to create sustainable improvements in PE, sport and physical activity that will benefit both current and future pupils.
Physical education and sport play an important role in supporting pupils' physical health, mental wellbeing, personal development and readiness to learn. Through carefully planned experiences, we aim to inspire children to be active, develop healthy habits and understand the importance of leading healthy lifestyles throughout their lives.
