RSE
RSE - Relationships and Sex Education.
A programme of sex education for Year 6 children takes place in the Summer Term. The class teachers, in co-operation with the school nurse, focus on a programme of work over a number of weeks. In these sessions children consider aspects of personal hygiene, the physical and emotional changes in puberty, human reproduction and media representation of sex and relationships.
Parents may withdraw their children from Sex Education sessions if they so wish, by arrangement with the Principal. The Sex Education lessons take place in Year 5 and 6. Parents will be informed this will be taking place and will have the opportunity to ask questions.
